Anger against me

Today I have been getting a lot of direct messages from people who have been cussing me out and being told I am a traitor to the #DisabilityCommunity for saying lets get past this Dominic Cummings situation. I find this to be absolutely disgusting because I am not willing to let Political craziness to interfere with the safety of myself and my families safety. So, I am going to explain my position on this now once and for all so if you do not like it just block me, delete me or ignore me.

Did Dominic Cummings break lockdow? YES! Did Boris Johnson decide to back him? YES! Has Dominic Cummings shown no remorse for what he did? Absolutely not!

But what does this mean to me? Not a whole lot. Yes, I am angry about it because I am asthmatic and over weight. Because of this I have had to put myself in limited communication with the outside world. I only go out to check my post box twice a week. I put my rubbish out once a week and if I have letters to post I take them to the post box once a week late at night or early in the morning so that I am not likely to bump into anyone. I have not been able to see my dad without a screen since the end of March, that is nearly 2 months ago. He is very ill that you would be hard pressed to find what’s right with him. He also has dementia. I have been unable to see my fluffy babies Lucky and Prince which helped with my mental health since the end of March. So I have done everything I can to protect myself and my family and for Dominic Cummings did angers me greatly.

The thing that I think people need to focus on with this issue is that how many people did Dominic Cummings and his Wife infect on the way to Durham? You can’t drive 250 miles without filling up the tank or stopping to pee. Had his COVID-19 taken over him whilst he was driving he could have killed his family in a car accident and infected people and killed others if he caused a crash.

But what does this mean for us? It does not mean one bad thing should take away from what we have sacrificed. We have spent 2 months sacrificing and that should not be wasted. If we start saying that “well he did it so I am going to do it”. That takes away from the sacrificing we have done. If there is a second peak then that will be because we decided to ignore what we know works in stopping the virus. There is no Vaccine yet which means that we will need to stay alert at what is going on. The virus does not discriminate between social status, disabled or not, male, female, heterosexual or gay. It does not discriminate and so we need to make sure that we have looked after ourselves and our loved ones.

So, what we need to do as a country and a global community;

  1. If you are classed as vulnerable or extremely vulnerable should do what they can to minimise the risk to themselves and their family;
  2. If you are going out you need to social distance and be considerate of everyone on the street;
  3. Help out as many of the people who you can whether it is face to face or online. Keep everyone’s moral up!
  4. Support our Medical professions who are also sacrificing seeing their families to keep us going and making sure we do not run out of medical professionals;

What ever any politician does during this Pandemic will be remembered in the History Books. They will always be remembered for both the good and the bad that they have done so lets move passed what Dominic Cummings and Boris Johnson as what they have done, will go down in history.

Boris Johnson was democratically elected into office on the last General Election and democratically elected as the leader of the Conservative party. If, after this pandemic is over you feel he needs to pay, then you vote him out at the next election. That is what is best for our country is to follow our democratic society. But, until we get a chance to goto the polls and cast your vote. Until then we need to continue with working on keeping this virus tamed until we have a vaccine that will save lives.

I have no intention of breaking my isolation so honestly I urge everyone no matter what country you are in, no matter your circumstances please continue to do what you are doing and keep this virus tamed.

Letter to the UK

To my fellow country men and women,

I know in the last few days we have heard many troubling stories about Mr Dominic Cummings and has been compounded by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is refusing to ask for his resignation. I know there is anger at the blatant rule for us and another one for the rich but this is not what we need to be focussing on at the moment.

The truth is that social distancing and being separate from those in our household has curbed the rate of infection. Ignore what the idiots in Westminster are doing. It is important that we need to get this right and be there to get rid of the virus and keep it under control whilst we wait for a vaccine.

So, I am asking everyone in this country to do the following;

  1. Keep self-isolating if you get the symptoms
  2. Keep up the social distancing
  3. Keep away from people who are not in your household
  4. Support our NHS

We need to do what is right even if those who run this country are not doing what is right. It is important that we keep this virus under control. It does not matter what your political affiliation is, your job, your social status this virus is unforgiving and does not discriminate.

We need to keep our people safe and we need to make sure that we do what we can. Please keep your cool and please do what is sane and useful for this country.

Please do not let this country go into chaos!

Thank you

Dominic Cummings Shame

Honestly I am seriously disgusted by what I have read about a Politician here in the UK. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Dominic Cummings decided that he would break lockdown which was by that point law and travel from London to Durham to spend time with his parents. Dominic Cummings, according to the news, had been diagnosed with COVID-19 when he decided to break the law.

Mr Cummings has been an avid campaigner for serious reform in the Civil Service claiming incompetence and corruption. Yet I have failed to see any news story where a Civil Servant has broken the law by breaking lockdown. The Civil Servant actually value their security clearance and being arrested for breaking lockdown would affect their ability to work in the Civil Service. Yet, a man who claims to be better then the Civil Service broke lockdown.

Mr Cummings should be asked forcibly for his resignation. He should also be investigated for Criminal Negligence as who knows who he could have infected on his way to his parents. If his parents contracted COVID-19 and not survive he should be arrested for Criminal Negligent Homicide.

I do not care what your political affiliation may be. Breaking the law whilst in Public Office is a breach in public trust. No politician is above the LAW as such he should be treated like the criminal he is.

I would say this no matter what political party the politician came from if you break the law, you are not above it and you need to be treated as the criminal that you are.

Pandemic goes on

I haven’t posted in a while and that is because I have been struggling during this COVID-19 Pandemic. I am living alone and I have to keep myself going.

</

Because I am classed as vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus but not clinically vulnerable I have to be very careful with what I do outside the flat. I am able to social distance however, I am unable to force people to social distance so it puts me at risk. I have to avoid key places such as the pharmacy because it is in the shopping center. It also means that I have to have online food orders because I have to avoid going into stores.

I finally got into a routine so that I get some time out of the flat but not as much as I would like. Tuesday’s and Friday’s I check the post. This goes up if I have a parcel as the postman is not allowed to come inside the building. Tuesday’s I also take my rubbish out for collection. If I have letters to post then I take them to the letter box on Tuesday’s as well. It is maybe 5 minutes each way.

The solitude is something that is driving me a bit crazy. I am able to keep going but the negatives are seeping in. Because I am in the flat all the time bills have gone up. I am also struggling to get exercise :(. I am also facing a birthday on my own. No family, no friends and it makes me sad. Some times, I worry about what the sight of the UK will be like post COVID.

Another thing that is getting to me is I want to help. I want to be one of those people who help people in need but because I am vulnerable I have to take care of myself first. This is taking a tole on me but, it is something that is making me focus on my needs. I spend so much time looking after other people I forget about myself. As you can imagine this means I get sick a lot. Being forced to look after myself is a good thing, I think.

What really bugs me is watching the selfish people who are not taking this pandemic seriously. Our Prime Minister eased the restrictions but then I started seeing groups of people congregating. It is not something that I feel good about. These selfish people are the reasons why people like me have to actually stay inside more then we really should have to and honestly it is frustrating.

The positive things I have found is the work that I have been doing with Soldiers Angels. Letters and emails I send to American Service Members have helped keeping me going. I am also storing my food that I cant eat and donating it to the local NHS Hospital. I like helping the Heros who are fighting this horrible illness. I just hope that a second wave is not triggered by the idiots.

I am praying for a vacine to be found soon so that I will be able to see my dad again who is classed as extremely vulnerable. I want to be able to goto my office and see my friends in the coffee shop. I miss Hugs and being able to talk to people without a screen involved. As far as I am concerned though that I am doing what I can to help keep the pandemic down.

Everyone, please stay safe out there and honestly take care of your wellbeing. Stay safe, stay sane and keep up the good work.
